I am living in New York with my daughter Claire.
My mother is Daniela Stefanescu, married to Cristian Ghiga.
They are living in Bucharest, Romania.
My father is Dan Ciobanu, married to Catalina Tamis. They are the parents of Christopher, Alice and Sarah and live in New York, USA.
I have 4 siblings:
- my dear sister Ana-Catrina , who is not a baby anymore, but a real lady; we call her Catrinel, or shorter
Catri. She is living in Virginia with her husband.
- my baby-brother Christopher Don Ciobanu is not the baby anymore but the "big brother"
- my baby-baby-sister Alice Grace Ciobanu used to be the youngest in the family.
- the littlest addition to our family, Sarah-Jessica Ciobanu was born in December 2007.
My grandparents are:
- from my mother's side: the playwright Mircea
Stefanescu
(April 21, 1898 - October 22, 1982), and my grandmother Marie-Claire
Stefanescu (January 24, 1915 - October 1, 2001)
- from my father's side: Marin Carstea (October 21, 1925 - March 22, 2000), I called him Nacu, and my grandmother Marietta Carstea, I call her Mica

Mircea Ulubeanu was a construction engineer and invented what in Romanian is called "stabilopozi"
His daughter and my aunt Nicole Sima is a piano teacher. Her husband, Vasile Sima, is a very renowned informatician.
They have two children: my cousin Diana, finished her PhD in Belgium in Math and now lives in Haacht, Leuven with her husband, Mihai Osian; my cousin Vlad graduated from Electrical Engineering, finished his masters and now works in Bucharest, Romania
Nicole has a brother, Simi, who is also a music teacher. He is the father of Emanuel, who is a
11th grader at the German Highschool in Bucharest. He has a baby-sister Sofia and a baby-brother Gheorghe. Sofia is Claire's best friend in Bucharest.

- from my father side:
the family of Bogdan Carstea, the younger brother of my father. He is an engineer in Germany.
He is married to Roxana and they have two children: Matei (student at Oxford University, England) and Diana (student in highschool)
